Rules


  • Basic rules of discussion

    • Topics

      • Each topic must be placed in the corresponding section.

      • The title of the topic should reflect, as much as possible, the content of the topic.

      • Before posting, one should make sure that a similar topic is not present on the forums.



    • Replies

      • Each reply should be on topic and provide new information. Posts which are off-topic are allowed only in the "Off-Topic" section.

      • User is not allowed to post 2 messages in a row, unless the previous message has been posted 7 days earlier than the following one.



    • Basic rules

      • The discussion here, on the forums, is conducted in a calm and peaceful manner. Using swear words (even when some of the letters are substituted by an asterisk (*)) is prohibited, moreover, provoking and engaging in arguments is also prohibited, as well as any kind or form of discrimination.

      • Excessive usage of smilies or text formatting i.e writing the whole post in CAPITAL LETTERS or using a different font colour is not allowed.

      • Each post should be coherent and follow the rules of grammar, spelling etc.

      • One may not break the law, especially laws concerning piracy and copyright. Every case of the said breach will be removed. In severe cases, the authorities will be informed also.


      • One may not ask about the date of the release of file previewed on the forums.

      • One user is entitled to have only one forum account.



    • Help Section

      • In order to ease the process of support and identifying the probable cause of the problem, one should include in his post: the content of vblog.txt and MapLog.txt from the vbus' main directory; one's computer technical specification (processor, RAM, name of the Graphic Card, Name of Operating System); version number of his vbus copy. User may not include some of the aforementioned information only when he is SURE that the omitted information will not be needed during the process of identifying and solving the problem.

      • One topic should pertain only to one problem.


    • Add-ons section and subsequent sections.

      • While posting a message about a new add-on being made, one is obliged to post a screenshot describing the current state of project’s development.

      • While publishing an add-on, one should include a screenshot of the add-on, a note about the required version of vbus and other add-ons which are required for the published add-on to work properly, furthermore, one should also provide a link for downloading this add-on (due to security reasons, new add-ons should be placed in our "File Directory" associated with the forums, other servers may used be as an addition. In rare cases, this rule may not apply to some add-ons).

      • In case of Texture section, "One city - one topic" rule is applied



    • User Profile

      • Every item of the user profile (username, avatar, signature) may not include any content which may be perceived as immoral.

      • User's signature may not, in any way, make the browsing of forums difficult. The maximum size of the signature is 700 pixels in width and 100 pixels in height (including the graphics and the text).



    • Stuboks (Shoutbox)

      • Stuboks is not a place for asking questions about publication of vbus and add-ons, nor is the place for solving the problems connected with them.

      • The rules from the Basic Sections apply also in the Stuboks.

      • In case of a repeated violation of the Stuboks' rules, user may be banned from Stuboks.





  • Administration Team


    • The people who keep the order in the forums and help users with any forum-related matters are called moderators. The current list of moderators can be found here.

    • Administrators are people who have the same rights as moderators and additionally, their work is to control and evaluate the work of moderators and look after the forums itself.

    • Present list of the Forum Administrators:

      • m - administrator in charge of forum script and moderators.

      • Zonaimad - Administrator in charge of warn appeals.

      • RoGaL - Administrator in charge of the Community.





  • Special Ranks

    • Editors - People looking after the file directory.

    • Add-On Makers - map, model or set of objects makers.

    • Developers - People who are involved in the development of Vbus' source code.

    • Awarding a special rank is a sole decision of the Administrative Body and fulfilling the above mentioned conditions does not lead into obtaining the rank.



  • Breach of rules

    • Messages which break the rules will be either deleted or changed by the administration, depending from the frequency and the severity of the offence - user will be issued a warning..

    • In course of receiving next warnings, the access to the forums will be limited according to the list below:

      • 2 subsequent warnings in 7 days time - moderator supervision for 7 days,

      • 4 warnings - posting ban for 7 days,

      • 5 warnings - posting ban for 30 days,

      • 6 warnings - permanent ban.



    • The Administration, in special cases (breach of copyrights, piracy encouragement, spoofing, SPAM, multiaccounts), may issue more than one warning at a time or limit the user's access to forums without any issuing further warnings.

    • One may appeal against a warning by contacting a corresponding Administrator.


  • Final provisions

    • Ignorance of the rules does not excuse users from following the rules of the forums.

    • The author of the post is the sole owner of the copyright for his messages.

    • The administration cannot be held liable for the content generated by the users.

    • The Forum Rules are the property of the VirtualBus Forums, copying or any kind of modification of the said rules is prohibited. The breach of this rule leads to informing an institution which deals with copyrights infringement.

    • In order to delete a forum account, user should contact an administrator using personal message system.
